From summer to fall styling tips

No secret here: I love summer!

The sunlight, swirling dresses, tan lines, smell of sun screen , late night drinks on a terrace, … what is there not to like ☀️

One way to hold on to that summer feeling when the day’s get shorter and the morning’s cooler is to combine my summer wardrobe with some fall elements.

The 1st rule (of any good wardrobe for that matter, not just a transitional one), is to have a good variety of wardrobe basics.

For me, there are 3 must have pieces in your summer-fall transitional wardrobe: a denim jacket, a leather jacket and a long cardigan.

And I think all off us have these in our wardrobe. They are perfect and easy to combine with your summer dresses or with a pair of jeans and a summer top.

But instead of wearing your sandals wear some boots or sneakers.

Another all rounder is the blazer, you currently find them in every shop in so many different colours, sizes and shapes.

Go for a casual look on a pair of jeans, a little top and finish your look with some accessories and you go from work straight to after-work.

When it gets cooler and your legs are freezing wear tights or your maxi dresses in combination with a sweater.

As you will be using more basics and classic pieces in more neutral tones you will need to play with materials and accessories to inject your own personality. Don’t be afraid to combine silk and wool, or leather and cotton. You can also opt for summer shapes but in fall/winter materials, like a wool tank top, a leather skirt, …

And for your accessories dare to go bold! You are adding more neutral colours so have fun with a bold clutch or statement earrings or eye catching bracelets.

Hope today's blog will help you with some ideas on how to style your own summer-fall transitional wardrobe.
